Eco paint brand Thorndown have extended their collection of wood and wall paints with the addition of a new shade: Egret White.
A stunning off-white with just a hint of cream, Egret White was inspired by the pale herons found nestled in the wetlands of Somerset, close to Thorndown’s factory.
Caroline Thornborough, Design Director for Thorndown, said: “Thorndown was inspired by the environment and the landscape around us, which is why we are committed to creating environmentally-considered paints that are safe to use around the house and garden.
“But as well as shaping how we manufacture our paints, our local environment also motivates us to create new shades and Egret White is no exception.
“We spotted a congregation of egrets close to the factory where all our paints are produced and we knew we had to create a colour to honour these birds.
“Like the Great Egret, this paint is predominantly white with a gentle yellow cream undertone, similar to the shade you’d find under an egret wing.”
Inviting and welcoming, Egret White can be used to create a calming, cosy atmosphere. It pairs beautifully with natural materials, such as wooden furnishings or rattan textiles, and complements a range of other shades, including soft blues and greens for a more calming space, as well as bold hues for contrast.
It also works well in both traditional and contemporary settings.
Egret White is one of 73 shades available in Thorndown’s technically-excellent wood paint, and the 57th colour to join Thorndown’s wall paint range.
Like all other Thorndown products, Egret White is a water-based paint with virtually no VOCs.
Egret White from Thorndown is available now in both wall and wood paint, priced at £22 for 750ml.
