Independent tile retailer The Baked Tile Company has unveiled its own 21^st century take on classic terrazzo in a new five-piece collection.

Venetica Terrazzo might be inspired by the timeless beauty of traditional terrazzo, but it has been reimagined for the modern era through the strength and versatility of hardwearing porcelain.

Lesley Taylor, Founder of The Baked Tile Company, said: “Terrazzo has long had a place in interior schemes, but what we’re seeing now is a much more refined, design-led take on the trend. Our new Venetica Terrazzo collection captures the character and movement people love about terrazzo, while keeping it versatile enough for modern homes.”

Venetica Terrazzo channels the artisanal beauty of traditional terrazzo, with flecks of colour bringing depth and dimension wherever it is used.

Measuring 60cm x 60cm, Venetica Terrazzo is a large format tile suitable for both walls and floors. It is available in five finishes, from the warming tones of Taupe and Cognac through to a characterful take with Vert, and the more refined offerings of Blanc and Or.

Lesley added: “Rather than overpowering flecks, Venetica Terrazzo focuses on balanced colour palettes and softer contrasts, which makes it far easier to live with day to day. It works beautifully in kitchens and bathrooms, but it’s equally at home in hallways or open-plan spaces where you want impact without visual noise.”

Great looks aside, Venetica Terrazzo is manufactured from durable porcelain, which means it is suitable for all areas of the home, including the fireplace. It’s also compatible with underfloor heating and is frost-proof, so can be used on external walls too.
