Designers Guild have unveiled Ghirlanda, a botanical design based on the renaissance gardens of Italy.

The new fabric will form part of the Guild’s 2024 offering.

A spokesperson for Designers Guild, said: “This season, our inspiration and creative process focused on The Italian Renaissance gardens and particularly, the new style of garden which emerged in the late 15th century at villas in Rome and Florence, inspired by classical ideals of order and beauty, and intended for the pleasure of the view of the garden and the landscape beyond, for contemplation, and for the enjoyment of the sights, sounds and smells of the garden itself.

“Noted for their lush greenery, thoughtful planting and the major characteristics of symmetry, order and elegance, these gardens are a lasting legacy centuries later and still captivate the imagination and inspire those who visit them.

“Ghirlanda comes from Italian Renaissance gardens – infusing the collection with a spirited take on flowers, foliage and damask. Extraordinary embroideries and wide-width printed panels complete the story and are vital and versatile. Moselle lino – a luxurious collection of understated, refined textures and textiles in smart sophisticated shades.

“Adding to our legendary array of plains – 4 new must have collections as well as furniture and home accessories.”
