Colour palettes that feel calm, restorative and emotionally supportive are going to be big news in 2026, according to the experts at eco paint brand Victory Colours.
They predict homeowners will move away from stark neutrals and high-contrast schemes as they embrace shades rooted in nature and designed to bring a sense of comfort and stability into the home.
Victoria Yardley, Founder of Victory Colours, said: “After several years of global and economic uncertainty, people are craving homes that feel grounding and reassuring.
“In 2026, colour is being used as a form of emotional support, to create spaces that lift the mood and make everyday life feel a little more balanced.”

Grounded greens inspired by nature
Soft, muted greens will be one of the standout trends of 2026, with shades inspired by forests, gardens and natural landscapes taking centre stage.
Mossy tones, eucalyptus greens and herb-like sages are set to replace cooler, sharper hues.
Victoria said: “Green is incredibly powerful psychologically and will bring an instant sense of calm and connection to nature, helping spaces feel restorative rather than overstimulating.”

A new era of warm neutrals
Neutrals are evolving too, with clay-based tones taking centre stage. Expect to see warm beiges, soft oat colours and gentle clay pinks that feel human and lived-in become increasingly popular throughout the year.
Victoria said: “The neutrals of 2026 are warmer and more characterful. They feel grounding and comforting, without the flatness of traditional magnolia.”

Softer, warmer blues
Blues remain popular, but with a noticeable shift towards shades with warmer undertones. Smoky navy, heritage denim blues and indigo shades softened with grey will dominate.
Victoria said: “These blues feel sophisticated and calming and work beautifully with brass and natural materials, creating spaces that feel both elegant and relaxed.”

Accents that add warmth and optimism
Terracotta, paprika tones and soft buttery yellows will be used as accents to bring warmth and subtle energy to interiors.
