2026 looks set to be the year of the Japanese Soaking Bath, according to the experts at luxury bathroom brand Aquaroc.
Using Google’s Trends platform, Aquaroc found searches for the term ‘Japanese Baths’ have soared in 2026.
Japanese baths, or ofuro, are traditional soaking tubs designed for a full-body bathing experience that focuses on wellbeing.
Mark Tones, Founder of Aquaroc, said: “As daily life gets busier, homeowners are looking to bring spa-like calm into their homes. Bathrooms are becoming personal sanctuaries, spaces to reset and unwind, so homeowners are investing in features that enhance relaxation, including Japanese Soaking Tubs.
“These baths prioritise wellness, alongside space-smart design, to help create a calming, retreat-like space. Ofuro baths offer a luxurious soak without the need for a large bathroom, making them ideal for modern homes.”
